What is the purpose of this blog?

The purpose of this blog is to understand the inequalities that plague the world of soccer and attempt to give practical or policy-related solutions at the end of each post rather than preach a vague sermon about societal ideals. I believe that issues of discrimination in all aspects of life are not only reflected in the cosmos of soccer, but they are also emphasized. Furthermore, I often see the media point out problems without actually proposing anything to do about it; this blog is thus a response to that. It hopes to make suggestions based on the knowledge of experts in various fields of study.

About Me

My name is Noah Leve. I am an eighteen year old student at Dawson College in Montreal, Canada majoring in Cinema and Communications, and I am set to pursue Political Science at McGill University in Fall 2021. Like many around the world, I love soccer; it is my greatest means of expression. This project is personally significant for me. It pains me to know that many cannot express themselves in the same way because they are discriminated against and harassed for things they cannot control.

Artist's Statement

I am passionate about politics and issues of social justice. I express my interest by pursuing activities such as Model United Nations where I must do more than just learn the facts about a selected subject to discuss it; I need to immerse myself in it and really strive to understand it. I bring the same level of commitment to issues of social justice as I do when I engage in my projects. Whether pursuing creative writing through screenplay scripts, documentary films or experimental films, I use these expressive mediums with the hope to help or enlighten others. Joining my passions of politics and soccer, I will shine a spotlight on the ideologies shaping the world of sport, and I will find connections where others do not.
